In this application, the Smith roof drain has an adjustable extension sleeve, sump receiver (-R) and underdeck clamp (-C). The extension sleeve adjusts for any specified thickness of insulation required above the roof slab or deck. The removal of the extension sleeve permits roof drainage during construction.

- Wood, Gypsum, Concrete Poured or Precast: Use the Smith No. 1010 cast iron body with flashing collar (standard), extension (-E) for insulation, underdeck clamp (-C), sump receiver (-R) and polyethylene dome (standard). Use Smith No. 1020 for side outlets.
- Steel Deck: Use the Smith No. 1010 cast iron body with flashing clamp (standard), underdeck clamp (-C), sump receiver (-R) and polyethylene dome (standard). See manufacturer's catalog for recommended deck opening. Smith No. 1020 for side outlets.
- Membrane Roof System: Use the Smith 1017 cast iron body with combined flashing clamp and gravel stop, polyethylene dome and perforated stainless steel extension for use on roof systems where built-up felt and asphalt waterproofing is installed.
