Zurn began selling product in 1900 in Milwaukee WI, their current headquarters is in Chicago IL.. There may be a connection between Boosey and Zurn. We’ve found an old patent by a company/person, E. M. Reiger Et Al from 1935, [see pic] you’ll notice one of the inventors is Melvin A. Zurn. There is also a pic of a drain by J.H. Schmid of a drain produced by Boosey in 1952, you’ll notice on the patent references [pg.4 of patent] it was controlled by E.M.Reiger Et Al in 1935. Zurn is difficult to gather historical information on, but we will continue to search.
The oldest catalog we have been able to find is No.47-1 from 1951. Zurn currently makes the most variations/options for drains, although most manufacturers will get close in variety offered. They don’t have as much old and obsolete material as others as well. One of the most common is an obsolete 5-Bolt ring [see next page]. We have yet to find much information on this ring other than it is no longer made. Both Wade and Josam have similar rings that are also obsolete and unavailable.
